Happy New Year all,
I hope you all had a great Christmas and 2010 is great for you. Well we haven't been up to much except watching a heap of DVD's. Gem's been unwell so it's been a bit of a chore to cab it everywhere and have to lug around all her stuff plus the suction machine.
We've been shopping a few times but to be honest it's been going to one shop or one centre and trying to get everything at the one time. It gets too much when we need something from different locations and have to cab it from place to place. It takes us most of the day to do things it would generally take 1-2 hours.
We're hoping this year will be easier. Not for anything but just being hopeful.
This year Gem has graduated to seniors at Glenroy Special School which is a huge accomplishment. I'm excited because I always knew my girl's great but I'm also anxious because she's growing up.
We did have a chance to try a vehicle late last year and I've set my sights on the VW Caddy Maxi Life. It's awesome, the size of a sedan, not a bus and it drives like a sedan and not a truck. Let's hope 2010 is our year of independent transport and easy access to socialising. Can't wait.

- I am 14 and a half years old. I go to Glenroy Special School. I can't speak but I understand what's going on around me. I use a wheelchair to get around but someone has to push. Mum says I have a wicked sense of humour. Mum started this Blog page for me so we can fundraise for a van so I can begin to socialise. Once I have my van, we're going to start a foundation so other kids can have a van for mobility too.
